Unlike normal Bluetooth dongles, which only work with Android, these diagnostic devices have dual-mode Bluetooth to also work with iOS devices (iPhone or iPad) in Bluetooth LE mode. The much lower power consumption also makes them more suitable as WiFi adapters and you can use your mobile data to access the internet for other applications.
